Bright Computing is looking for talented Systems Engineers to join our team in the UK or The Netherlands. The successful candidate must have experience as a Presales Engineer and be able to successfully explain our solutions and value proposition to partners, customers and prospects. We're looking for people who are technically skilled, articulate, team players who are self-motivated, reliable and have a "can do" attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical presales support to customers, prospects and partners.
  • Professional delivery of technical sales presentations to customers, prospects and partners both in person and via on-line resources.
  • Follow through with action items after customer meetings. 
  • Collaborate with Sales to map customer initiatives, priorities, requirements.
  • Provide training and support to partners and resellers to increase Bright’s market share.
  • Engage customers at technical conferences, user group meetings, customer forums and executive briefings.
  • Assist with technical product marketing materials such as "how to" articles and white papers.
  • Provide some limited post-sales support.
  • Some travel within Europe is required along with occasional international travel such as the annual SuperComputing Conference held in the USA.  Subject to the easing of restrictions due to Covid 19.

Required and Desirable Skills

  • Engineering/IT degree or equivalent, experience managing HPC, familiar with container technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker and Singularity. Experience with Bright Cluster Manager or Machine Learning/Deep Learning is a plus.
  • Exceptional presentation and listening skills, including credibility and business maturity to provide high quality input to senior management.
  • Track record of excellence in technical presales and solution design.
  • Technical excellence and personal honesty.
  • Passionate and recognize the importance of sales within the technical community.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new technologies.
  • Ability to work independently; to accomplish objectives without direct supervision.
  • Knowledge of key HPC cluster technologies, such as TCP/IP networking, PXE, NFS, workload management systems and InfiniBand.
  • Basic Linux shell scripting. Knowledge of Python is a plus.
  • Knowledge of HPC-related technologies, such as Ansible, LDAP, GPFS, Lustre, Ceph, GPU, Spark, cloud bursting to AWS and Azure would be beneficial.
  • Strong general Linux trouble-shooting skills are required.
  • Enjoy working within the selling environment which requires frequent interrupts, requiring creative thinking and working effectively within a sales team.
  • Excellent time management skills.  Need to be able to handle many different interrupts during the day/week to support high priority opportunities and customer/sales requests.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Enjoy working in a collaborative team environment and often wearing different hats to support the technical aspects of a sales process.
